These devices and gadgets are easy to use. They can help you to stay safe, well and independent.

There are lots of ways that technology can help you around your home - from reminding you to take your medication to getting help if you fall and can't reach the phone.

Devices can be standalone, linked to family or carers, or they can be connected to a team of trained advisors in a monitoring centre who will ensure you get the support you need.

How to get care technology

Most care technology is available to purchase online, or from specialist shops. Your family might help you to obtain care technology, with your consent, to ease concerns and make staying in touch and caring easier. Costs vary and can be one off or may include a monthly payment and sometimes an installation charge.

Europe's largest trusted online comparison site for daily living equipment run by the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) - a national charity.

Which? has some great advice on what to think about when choosing assistive technology, the different types of devices available and where to get them

We work with Herts Careline to offer more affordable telecare and personal alarm systems for residents who need it.

If you need help from us you can ask for an assessment. Care technology might be provided following an assessment if this is the best way to meet some or all care needs.

When you've been unwell

After an illness or hospital stay care technology might be provided for a short time while recovering strength and ability. Talk to your hospital social care team.
